


The Pan-American Ocean Energy Students (POES) network is a volunteer association acting as a hub for student organizations, to facilitate information sharing and collaboration between students and young researchers from around the world.
Mission

POE's mission is to disseminate, disseminate, promote and encourage the generation and sustainable use of ocean energy (such as waves, tidal currents, salinity and thermal gradient), as well as its connection with other interdisciplinary areas in a synergistic way, by through a multidisciplinary platform created by and for students as well as young researchers, which allows promoting dialogues where knowledge can be shared and fostered for the future use of ocean energies in the PAR.
Vision

Contribute to the UN's sustainable development goals and achieve full representation in the PAR, playing a key role in promoting the development of ocean energy under the conditions and context of the region. Join the portfolio of international networks with a similar vision to draw the best routes that contribute to a more heterogeneous electricity market that achieve a transformation towards a blue and equitable economy.
Objetive

a) Facilitate and improve the exchange of knowledge and information on ocean energy projects.
b) Develop skills to improve exchanges and collaborations between our members.
c) Collaborate with different student organizations to join global efforts aimed at the development of ocean energies.
d) Promote collaboration agreements with private sector companies, government bodies, institutions, associations and organizations that share similar objectives and help to achieve them.

A BRIEF HISTORY
The Panamerican Ocean Energy Student (POES) network: was started in 2019 as a joint decision of CEMIE-Océano (click here) and PAMEC.Energy Association (click here) to enhance the knowledge sharing and collaboration in Ocean Energy projects around the Pan-American Region (PAR). Taking advantage of the set up of CEMIE-Océano Estudiantil (México) and REMARCO (Colombia) as students network, these became in the first leaders and member of the POES. The POES network creation, structure, and deployment have been carried out by the Founding Members who are MSc. Tattiana Hérnandez, MSc. Emiliano Gorr, MSc. Marianella Bolivar, MSc. Paola Garduño, B.Ch.E Jorge Olmedo, B.A. Daniela Navarro, Eng.Cand.Angie Fonseca, Eng. Cand. Jonathan Benitez, Dr. Rodolfo Silva, and Dr. Rosa de Guadalupe.
